Kigurumi
Kigurumi is a Japanese word, from kiru, to wear, and nuigurumi, a stuffed toy. It started as the full-body character suits worn by performers at theme parks and on television. What reached the UK is the softer descendant of that: a fleece animal onesie with a hood, ears and usually a tail. If you have seen someone in a dinosaur suit on a train at Christmas, that is a kigurumi.
